Wonderful World Book Week!

This week has been magical from start to finish in Newgate. The children have celebrated literacy all week long!

Newgate have been exploring how a story is structured. The beginning, middle and end play important roles within a story as they can be very exciting and “make you fall in love with the story”- Newgate quote.

We have written our very own stories about the Evil Pea and her mischievous ways! The children each chose which super vegetable would save the day. Super Carrot was particularly popular!

Towards the end of the week the whole of St Martin’s Academy celebrated World Book Day! What a day this was. Our day begin with a fashion show, the effort and colours were a magical sight! The team were so proud of the confidence within each individual as they strutted down the catwalk. In the afternoon, along with some wonderful volunteers, the children and the team walked to the Storyhouse for a story and craft activities. The staff from the Storyhouse were very impressed with the children and thought they were much older than 4!

As always we cannot be any prouder of the children we teach. They are willing to always have a go and try something new.
