Wisdom, Experiments and Sport
Wolfgate have been very busy again this week and have had a fantastic attitude towards their learning all week.
This week has been British Science Week and the children have been investigating how circuits work and what makes a complete circuit. They worked in groups to stretch their knowledge to developing working alarms and fans using batteries and switches.
In Maths this week, we have completed our topic of area, perimeter and volume, the children have enjoyed using different methods to calculate the correct answer. We move onto the Algebra next week.
Within Topic, we have been focusing on the famous House of Wisdom from the early islamic civilisation, the children have lots of fun learning about the importance of the house to the city of Baghdad and also the impact it has had on us in the present day. They presented their knowledge through an advert encouraging scholars from around the world to visit.
During PE, we have continued to develop our gymnastic skills working on cartwheels and 2 move routines. On Thursday, we took part in a continuous game of Handball for Sport Relief, the children had lots of fun with a a degree of competitiveness.
Another amazing week.
Have a great weekend!
