Another fantastic week in Shipgate!

This week in Literacy, Shipgate have completed comprehensions about our model text and they have been investigating the use of commas, for different purposes. Pupils have gathered information, surrounding Ernest Shackleton’s expedition, to create their own newspaper report.

In Maths, the children have enjoyed studying statistics this week. They have been analysing, drawing and solving problems on line graphs. They ended the week analysing information in tables and charts.

In Spanish this week, Shipgate talked about the hobbies that they like and dislike. In art, the children designed their own front covers for their PE theory books.

In Monday’s 30-minute blast, Shipgate tested their jumping skills: with speed bounce, triple jump and a standing long jump. During Tuesday’s session, pupils focused on volleying in tennis.

To end our week, we enjoyed a bit of wellbeing and relaxation- something that we all need at the moment! Shipgate had a fantastic dance session, throwing some shapes around the classroom! We cooked delicious chocolate chop cookies and devoured them with a lovely cup of hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows). We also celebrated how amazing we are in Shipgate, by creating art poems about ourselves.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend and we look forward to speaking to you all at parents evening next week.
