We Are All Equal
Fractions have been keeping us busy in maths this week. Northgate have worked incredibly hard to reignite and build on prior knowledge. We explored finding a fraction of a shape, quantities and amounts before applying these skills to word problems and reasoning questions- super. The following games, website links and videos support your child’s consolidation of this new learning.
Northgate LOVE science and this week we wanted to investigate how temperature impacts on water transport. After recapping the functions of plant parts, the children set up a comparative experimenting, placing flowers in different locations around school. We have placed food colouring in the water to compare how well it transports in different conditions. Similarly, we are still recording observations of our cress seeds and the children are delighted to see the daily progress made by flowering plants. As the week progressed, the children looked at classifying and grouping animals and we look forward to continuing this next week.
In RE, the children continued their exploration of Buddhism and looked into the Noble Eightfold Path. Linking with our PSHE lessons, Northgate discovered Buddhism promotes learning and self discovery and talks about equality, kindness and positive thinking.
Have a fantastic weekend,
The Year Three Team.
