What a wonderful week we have had in Newgate! We have also been celebrating World Mental Health Awareness week through exploring methods of well-being. We have been focusing on ‘FINDING OUR BRAVE’ through celebrating our individualism and our experiences. The children also identified times in their lives that they have felt brave such as starting dodgeball or ballet.
Our week has been filled with super science experiences. Marty from Fun Science helped us with some WOW learning all about water. The children have used water to make slime, carry out skittles dissolving experiments as well as looking at water pressure.
Our learning around water continued as we explored waterproof materials and created boats. We carried out a plan, do and review approach to learning as the children spoke about their designs and plans on how they were going to build their boat. They then created it and reviewed their boat to see if they would change anything next time.
This week we have said goodbye to Miss Williamson who has supported the children in their learning for the past term. We would like to thank her for her hard work and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
Many thanks for your continued support,
Miss Bowler, Mrs Bebbington, Mrs Thombs and Miss Williamson.
