Shipgate – We Made It!
The end of the term has finally arrived and the Shipgate children have had a fun, celebratory end to the week, playing games and enjoying hot chocolate and movie time! As always, Shipgate have worked very hard this week and we are so proud of them. There have been some tired faces towards the end of term however the children have continued to smile and stay positive- well done everybody!
In PE this week, Shipgate have had some enjoyable live lessons with AJ and Miss Valentine. Shipgate tried some hand eye coordination challenges with Miss V, including: batting, catching, juggling and fielding. Pupils learnt about the importance of having a healthy, balanced diet in their PE theory lesson.
Shipgate extended their understanding of fractions this week in maths. Pupils added and subtracted fractions, found fractions of amounts, completed word problems involving fractions and they multiplied fractions. Well done everybody for your efforts and independence- fantastic work!
In Literacy, pupils have completed their instruction big write- drafting and editing their work before writing their final piece. The class produced some excellent work and we loved reading all their efforts.
We have had another wonderful week, jam packed with exciting learning opportunities including: a live art session with Chris Gilbert, we joined AmaSing for a live dance and singing session and we had another Digital Wizard session, working on Scratch. Children also enjoyed using their watercolours to create Hybrid art, they made self-confidence posters, they enjoyed our Joke-a-thon Wacky Wednesday and they enjoyed a digital detox, making dens.
To end the spring term we had a fantastic Friday. Pupils completed stretch projects in the morning and enjoyed Kahoot quizzes, dancing and our usual Golden Time movie and hot chocolate to end the day.
We hope you all enjoy a peaceful, relaxing and happy half term. You are amazing Shipgate and we couldn’t be prouder of you. We hope we can all be back together in school soon but you are doing so well working from home. Keep laughing and smiling and enjoy the break from Zoom!
