Shipgate Chefs!

Shipgate have finally completed their two-week home schooling journey. The children have done fabulously to continue with their ‘normal’ school day of learning whilst also improving their technology skills. Shipgate are now Zoom experts!

In Monday’s 30-minute blast, Shipgate loved completing their ‘Cheshire View ritual’ of the Kidz Bop Dance. They certainly haven’t lost their groovy moves.

In Literacy, the children have been able to expand on their Iron Man vocabulary and have delved into setting descriptions. They loved working in break out rooms to come up with group kennings and simile poems to describe the Iron Man.

Shipgate have been able to carry on with Guided Reading, looking at Jazz Harper using Google Classroom. They have also been able to learn their weekly spellings through the use of spelling pyramids.

In Maths, the children have worked on dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. They have done so well with identifying how the digits move using place value.

Throughout this week we have been able to explore many themes in Safety week. We started on Monday with highlighting the importance of being kind, where we took part in Odd Socks Day for Anti Bullying week.  For Art this week, we all enjoyed completing some cave paintings, using real examples from the Stone Age to look at. Then on Wednesday, Shipgate looked at the dangers in the Kitchen and were able to discuss kitchen safety. We then all enjoyed an afternoon in the kitchen, baking and cooking our favourite things.

In PE theory this week, Shipgate explored the anatomy of the body. They loved the online game where they had to label the skeleton. In PE, with the focus being on football, the children have been able to record themselves showing off their silky skills and technique.

We hope you have a brilliant weekend and we can’t wait to see everybody in school on Monday!
