Shipgate Back Together!
Shipgate have had a great return to school this week and once again they have made us very proud with their mature attitude and effort to their learning.
In PE this week, Shipgate enjoyed sports day style races in their Monday blast session. The Shipgate team have loved working with the children this week to complete virtual challenges, including: speed bounce, shuttle runs, chest pass, long jump and high jump. Pupils worked hard to push themselves and they encouraged each other- super teamwork! Between the challenges, Shipgate also enjoyed using the football skills they have been working on over the last few weeks, in mini football games.
In Literacy this week, the children have been analysing the model text. They have been developing their writing skills, using a range of sentence structures in their work. Pupils used adventurous vocabulary to describe the Iron Man and build detailed paragraphs collaboratively.
In Maths, the children started the week with a review of their multiplication and division work, before moving on to perimeter. Pupils have measured shapes accurately with a ruler, converting units between cm and mm. Following on from this they then calculated the perimeter of rectangles and other rectilinear shapes and solved problems.
In topic this week, the class loved getting dirty- creating Stone Age style artwork, using natural materials they could find outdoors. In science we enjoyed testing different materials, to see if they dissolve. Shipgate were incredibly excited to see our end of term Christmas performance script this week and we look forward to putting it together digitally for your enjoyment- watch this space!
We hope you have a wonderful weekend, as we look forward to the start of December next week!
