Second Star To The Right and Straight on Until Morning
Week 4 in our virtual classroom and just like being in Wolfgate for real, the bar keeps on being raised by our founding pupils.
They have been excellent this week and it is clear that they are showing a great attitude to their learning from home and engaging well with their parents, peers and teachers through the online platform.
We have delved deeper into the impact World War II had on Britain with a focus on Propaganda posters, where the children researched the hidden meaning of them and the important role they had in the war effort. We also made links to the similarities to the advertising we are seeing around us at the moment online and on the television, some are very very similar, but hey if they worked then and we were successful then why not recycle them!
Our linked Literacy text Rose Blanche has now been read by all in the class and we will be developing our knowledge of the book and its themes to a diary entry over the coming weeks. The children have been refining their use of parenthesis this week which has led to some amazing work being submitted.
In Maths, we have been perfected our knowledge of angles inside triangles, straight lines and around a point, the children have developed their reasoning skills over the last two weeks and have worked at an incredible pace through the topic, next week we move on to looking at Statistics.
Last Friday, Miss Smith announced that our end of year production will be an outside performance of Peter Pan! We have received some amazing audition tapes and we will be looking to cast early next week. It is going to be a production you will not want to miss!
Have a lovely weekend- your children continue to be an absolute credit to parents and their school!
