We welcome volunteers at the Academy as we know that they bring with them a range of skills and experiences which can enhance the learning opportunities for our children.
Volunteers come from within our parent body, our wider family and from within the local community.
Our volunteers in school include:
- Members of our Governing Body.
- Parents of pupils in school.
- Students on work experience.
- University students either on school placement or as additional volunteers.
- Local residents.
- Friends of the School.
St Martin’s Academy places the highest priority on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All volunteers will be subject to stringent vetting and induction processes which will include a DBS check, obtaining satisfactory references and the completion os a registration form. Other checks may be required and will be dependent on the role(s) undertaken in school.
Please note: Volunteering in school in any capacity does not qualify as a member of staff.
