Dizzy after Division!

This week we have been dizzy from all the division exploring we have had! We have revised the concept of sharing and enhanced the children’s understanding by introducing the mathematical vocabulary of division. The children have used challenge cards to divide by 2, 3 and 5. It was wonderful to see the children working in pairs to problem solve using practical resources. Excellent teamwork!

In phonics this week, we have been focusing on the Set 3 sounds we have learnt so far. Our sounds of the week have been ‘oa – goat in a boat’ and ‘ur – nurse with a purse’. The children have really enjoyed writing lists of words that include these sounds within their child-initiated provision. We have been blown away by the effort with our letter formation from the whole class, we are definitely preparing for Bridgegate!

The children are LOVING their weekly dance sessions with Victoria. Victoria has been WOW’d by their listening skills and their love of music and dance moves- those wake-up shake-ups in lockdown have prepared them well!

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your continued support,

Miss Bowler, Mrs Bebbington and Mrs Thombs.
