Circuit central in Shipgate!

Shipgate have had another brilliant week!

In Literacy this week, the children have been able to complete some excellent setting descriptions. They have also focused on punctuating direct speech within SPAG. Closer to the end of the week, Shipgate have made predictions about our new text, using pictures and quotes.

In Maths, Shipgate have been focussing on place value. They have been recognising numbers to a million, ordering and comparing numbers and rounding them to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. Shipgate have worked incredibly hard with our new White Rose Maths place value work. Well done Shipgate!

During our topic work this week, Shipgate have continued to explore the life of Sir Ernest Shackleton. They enjoyed creating a timeline of his life, using facts that they had learnt about him. In Art, Shipgate made a sketch of Ernest’s ship ‘Endurance’ and they completed their topic book covers, using paints and their cutting skills!

Our PE sessions this week were based around mini circuits.  During our theory session, the children designed their own circuits, choosing different exercises to work the different parts of the body. They then worked at mini stations to practise these skills, including: the plank, lunges and high knee running!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
