The team at St Martin’s Academy work in partnership with external teachers and coaches to provide a wide range of extra curricular activities which take place beyond the school day.
The activities planned throughout the year give all children the opportunity to try new things and extend and develop their skills in areas they are introduced to in school.
Each half term a program of activities is published and parents are given the opportunity to express their preferences, indicating the activities their child would like to take part in after school. Each child will be allocated at least one of their preferences and waiting lists will be held and further places allocated if they become available. Throughout the year, clubs may be repeated allowing for the opportunity for all children to take part in a particular club at some point during the school year and, as children progress through the school, different activities are made available depending upon the age and stage of each learner.
For children in the EYFS, the first year in school, some enrichment clubs begin during the autumn term. However, due to the demands of an already extended day on our youngest learners, these are limited at the start of the year.
Where possible, enrichment activities will be offered free of charge however there may be a small fee applied for some clubs which are run by external providers.
