Extended School Day
St Martin’s Academy provides wrap around care and extended school days, in order to provide the richest curriculum possible to encourage development of the whole child, through our unique ‘beyond curriculum’ focus.
Our longer school day, 9-4pm, allows us to expose the children to a number of different activities throughout the year, whilst ensuring they are still able to meet all of their important educational milestones. As the school day is longer than the traditional 9am to 3.30pm time-frame, it allows us to blend high academic progress with a wide range of extra curricular and beyond curricular activities.
The Academy encompasses all that is good in education, offering children many learning experiences beyond the traditional. By learning with a global perspective through the International Baccalaureate® Primary Years Programme, our pupils are exceptionally well equipped as they move on to the next stage of their education.
Open from 7.45am to 6pm, our school works in partnership with children and parents to achieve the best outcome for every child.
We work in partnership with external teachers and coaches to provide a wide range of extra curricular activities which take place beyond the school day. The activities planned throughout the year give all children the opportunity to try new things and extend and develop their skills in areas in which they are introduced in school.
Note: Due to the restrictions placed on our day to day operations by Covid-19, we are unable to offer a fully extended school day for pupils at this time. We are however, operating full wrap around care to support all families attending our school at no additional cost.
